As furniture designers and craftsmen we make custom designed desks. Each desk design is tailor-made to your exact requirements. We can help you to create a truly unique bespoke design for your home-office or study.
Our workshop is based in York, and we supply our freestanding furniture nationwide and install fitted furniture across York, Harrogate, North Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
With over 18 years of experience in designing and making quality hardwood furniture, you can be confident that the work will be carried out to the highest standards. Our craftsmen combine traditional woodworking knowledge and techniques with contemporary design and modern technology to create innovative solutions.
The range of projects we work on is wide and varied. Bespoke desks can be fitted or freestanding, we also design storage cabinets and shelving units so you can fit out the perfect home office.
The great thing about opting for a bespoke desk is the opportunity to choose. Working with a designer you can decide the function, choose layout, the size, the style and the materials. You can specify how many drawers, cupboards or shelves you may need and whether you require cable management runs. And if you are not sure what to choose we are happy to help and make suggestions.
Design
We believe that form follows function in furniture design, therefore we design a piece firstly to work well and then look good. Every detail of the design is worked out in the drawings ahead of starting in the workshop. We design furniture that works well and is made well so that it can be enjoyed long into the future.
Craftsmanship
Jacob Pugh gained a bachelor of the Arts Honours Degree in furniture design and Fine craft before setting up the workshop in 2005. Craftsmanship is the quality that comes from creating with passion, care, and attention to detail. It is a quality that is honed, refined, and practised over many years. Craftsmanship is at the heart of what we do.
Materials
We work predominately in Hardwood, hardwood veneers and Birch plywood. We can offer a range of finishes from hand oiled, to spray finished in clear lacquer or an unlimited range of paint colours. We are happy to guide you through the process of choosing your materials and will share our knowledge and recommendations. We will supply samples on request to help you feel confident in your decisions.
